Lakeview — Chevron Travel Stop and Resupply
Lakeview calls itself the ‘Hang Gliding Capital of the West’ but overlanders know it as the last real resupply before the high desert swallows you. The Chevron on North F Street has fuel, propane exchange, and a convenience store that stocks enough to fill gaps before multi-day runs into Hart Mountain, the Warner Valley, or the Fremont-Winema backcountry. There’s a True Value hardware store nearby if you need basic fasteners or tape — don’t count on anything 4WD-specific.
Cell service is decent in town (Verizon/AT&T) — use it. Download maps, send your trip plan, and top off water at the park on D Street. Lakeview is the last town of substance before long stretches of nothing, whether you’re heading toward Frenchglen or looping back through Paisley. Don’t roll through without stopping.
Last fuel before the Oregon high desert.
