Can a stock 4Runner or Jeep handle the Bald Rock Circuit?
No. This trail requires a highly modified 4WD with front and rear lockers at minimum. Lift, skid plates, and aggressive tires are not optional — the exposed granite slabs and technical climbs will punish anything less.
When is the trail open and what does weather do to the granite?
The trail is accessible year-round, but October through April is the best window. Wet granite in summer rain season becomes dangerously slick — even aired-down tires lose purchase fast on those domes.
