Etowah River Primitive Camping Area
This primitive area sits on a bend of the Etowah River about 8 miles southeast of Cartersville, accessed via a maintained gravel road through the wildlife management area. Half dozen informal sites spread along the riverbank under mature hardwoods. No facilities except for fire rings left by previous campers. River provides water source with proper treatment.
Road stays passable for high-clearance vehicles year-round, though spring rains can make the final approach muddy. Popular with local fishermen on weekends, but generally quiet. Managed as part of the Etowah Wildlife Management Area with hunting seasons affecting access September through January.
