These sandy roads wind through dense blackjack oak mottes and native prairie remnants, following old ranch tracks established in the 1800s. The LYNX Trail system forms the backbone, connecting multiple units with creek crossings at Elm Fork and challenging sandy climbs near the Bois d’Arc Creek confluence.

Moderate difficulty with deep sand traps that’ll test your momentum and line choice. Stock 4WD handles it, but aired-down tires make the difference between smooth sailing and getting stuck. Spring through fall offers the best conditions, though summer heat can be brutal. No permits needed, and dispersed camping is allowed with excellent dark skies for stargazing.
