Tyax Lodge — Gold Bridge Fuel and Resupply
Tyax Lodge sits on the north shore of Tyaughton Lake and has historically served as a critical fuel and resupply stop for overlanders working the Carpenter Lake, Gun Creek, and Spruce Lake corridors. This is not a big-box stop — it’s a wilderness lodge with limited fuel availability and basic supplies. Confirm fuel availability before you show up running on fumes. The setting is stunning: snowcapped Chilcotin peaks framing the lake, float planes coming and going.
Access is via the Gold Bridge–Tyaughton Lake Road, a well-traveled gravel route passable by high-clearance 2WD in dry conditions. Season runs roughly May through October depending on snowpack. Cell service is nonexistent. If you’re heading into the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park corridor, top off here — there’s nothing beyond this point. Call ahead when possible. Verify before arrival.
Last fuel before the South Chilcotin swallows you.
