Turkey Run State Park Campground
Turkey Run sits in a deep sandstone gorge carved by Sugar Creek, with 213 campsites spread across wooded loops. The park’s signature covered bridges and deep ravines make it a classic Midwest destination, though summer weekends pack out fast. Sites range from basic tent spots to RV-friendly spots with hookups, all tucked under mature hardwoods that provide solid shade. Fire rings and picnic tables are standard, and the camp store stocks basics.
Located just off US-41 about 15 miles north of Terre Haute, the park stays busy from April through October. Trail access leads directly to the famous Turkey Run ravines and connects to the park’s suspension bridge. Winter camping is available but services are limited. Reserve ahead for peak season — this isn’t dispersed country.
