Sossusvlei Lodge Fuel Station

The only reliable fuel source within 200km of Sossusvlei’s towering red dunes, this desert lodge station stocks diesel, petrol, and basic supplies. Clean restrooms, cold drinks, and a small shop with overpriced but essential items like water, snacks, and maps. Fuel prices are premium but it beats walking out of the desert.

Cash preferred, though cards sometimes work. Open sunrise to sunset — don’t count on late arrivals. Fill every container before heading into the deep desert camps around Dead Vlei. The next fuel is either back toward Windhoek or east toward Maltahöhe, both brutal drives on sand-scoured corrugated roads.
