This remote Shell station sits at the junction of Kelbaker Road and Highway 40, making it the final fuel stop before hitting Death Valley’s backcountry or the Mojave Road. The station has diesel, regular unleaded, and a small convenience store stocking basics like water, jerky, and motor oil. It’s genuinely the middle of nowhere — Joshua trees stretch to every horizon.

Open 24/7 with pay-at-pump after hours. The next fuel is either back toward Barstow or forward to Baker, both about 30 miles. Cell service is spotty but usually works enough for card transactions. Stock up on water here if you’re heading into the preserve.
