A network of informal sites scattered along the old Bismarck Mine road, this area offers solitude in classic Mojave terrain. Sites are tucked between massive granite outcroppings and Joshua tree groves, with expansive views toward the Granite Mountains. Capacity varies but can handle a dozen or more rigs spread out along the road system. Fire restrictions apply during summer months, and this gets busy during cooler months with rockhounds and stargazers.
Access is via a decent dirt road that branches north from Kelbaker Road. The road can get washboarded but remains passable for most high-clearance vehicles. No facilities whatsoever — pack out everything and bring plenty of water.
