Salto del Tequendama Mirador Overlook
The Tequendama Falls plunge 132 meters into the Bogotá River valley, creating one of Colombia’s most photographed natural landmarks. The viewing platform sits beside the haunting ruins of Hotel del Salto, an abandoned 1920s resort that adds an eerie atmosphere to the dramatic landscape. The falls are most impressive during rainy season (April-May, October-November) when water volume peaks.
Paved access road leads directly to parking areas near the viewpoint. The site gets crowded on weekends with day-trippers from Bogotá. Early morning visits offer the best light for photography and fewer crowds. Small vendors sell snacks and drinks near the parking area.
