Parque Nacional Natural Chingaza Camping Laguna Seca
This remote campground sits beside Laguna Seca in Chingaza National Park, surrounded by the otherworldly páramo landscape east of Bogotá. Basic facilities include pit toilets and designated camping areas, but no running water or electricity. The site accommodates about 15 tents across several flat areas near the lake. Temperatures drop below freezing most nights, even in dry season.
Access requires 4WD and park permits obtained in advance from the Bogotá office. The final 8 kilometers involve rough dirt track through cloud forest. Park rangers conduct evening wildlife talks when present. Bring all water and warm sleeping gear — this is serious high-altitude camping.
