Parque Nacional Natural Sumapaz Camping Las Lagunas
Remote camping area in the heart of Sumapaz páramo, Colombia’s largest high-altitude ecosystem. Basic pit toilets and designated fire rings, but bring everything else including water. Stunning views across glacial lakes and frailejón-dotted landscapes. Cold nights year-round — temperatures can drop below freezing even in dry season.
Accessed via rough mountain road from Pasca, high-clearance recommended especially in wet season. Park registration required at entrance. Limited to 8-10 tents maximum. Weather changes rapidly at this altitude, bring layers and waterproof gear. Some of the most pristine wilderness camping in Colombia.
