Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest — Hannegan Pass Trailhead
Hannegan Pass Trailhead sits at the end of Ruth Creek Road (Forest Road 32), about 5 miles east of Glacier. It’s the jumping-off point for Hannegan Pass, the Chilliwack River, and the Pickets wilderness — serious country by any measure. The parking area is gravel, fits a decent number of rigs with trailers, and a pit toilet is on site. No water at the trailhead itself — pull from Ruth Creek nearby if you need to fill up before heading in. Expect full trailhead capacity on summer weekends.
FR 32 is a good gravel road — high-clearance 2WD handles it fine in dry conditions. Snow closes it typically through mid-June; check Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie NF road conditions before committing. Northwest Forest Pass required for parking. No cell signal out here.
North Cascades wilderness starts here.
