Marble Range Provincial Park — Gang Ranch Road Viewpoint
Driving the Gang Ranch Road north out of Clinton toward Jesmond and the Marble Range, the terrain opens into a massive dry plateau with the white limestone ridges of the Marble Range stacked up to the west. There’s a natural pullout viewpoint along this road where the valley drops away and you can see across to the Potato Range FSR access zone — it’s the kind of place you stop, kill the engine, and just look. No facilities, no signage, just open grassland, ponderosa, and big sky. This is classic BC Interior at its most arid and dramatic.
The Gang Ranch Road is paved initially out of Clinton but transitions to gravel — typically suitable for high-clearance 2WD in dry conditions. In early spring or after heavy rain the clay sections get greasy. This viewpoint is useful as an orientation stop before committing to the Potato Range FSR network, which branches off nearby. Cell service is spotty to none once you’re north of Clinton on this road.
Big plateau views before the Potato Range FSR.
