Pavilion Lake sits in a narrow canyon south of the Marble Range, its water an almost unreal shade of turquoise thanks to microbialite formations on the lakebed — the same structures that once brought NASA researchers here to study early life. From the viewpoint pullouts on Pavilion Lake Road you get the full tableau: pale limestone walls dropping straight to the water, a handful of ranches scattered across the benches above. It’s a natural break point on any run toward the Potato Range FSR or the Clinton-area backcountry, and worth slowing down for.

The road along Pavilion Lake is paved and accessible to any vehicle. The area sits between Lillooet and Cache Creek on Highway 99, making it a natural waypoint whether you’re staging from the south or looping back from the Marble Range. No services at the viewpoint itself — fill up in Lillooet or Cache Creek.
