Hiawatha National Forest Rapid River Delta Dispersed Sites
A collection of informal camping spots along the Rapid River delta where it flows into Little Bay de Noc, part of Lake Michigan’s Green Bay. Sites range from open grassy areas to more wooded spots with decent privacy. Most can accommodate medium rigs, though the best waterfront spots fill up fast during fishing season. Popular with walleye and northern pike anglers, plus sea kayakers launching into the bay.
Access via County Road 513 to Rapid River Road — mostly paved until the final mile turns to packed dirt. Some sites accessible only during low water periods. Can get swampy during spring runoff. Pack out all trash, no facilities. Peak busy season runs May through September.
