Cascada de Basaseachi Mirador
A spectacular overlook where Basaseachi Creek launches off the canyon rim in a 246-meter free-fall — Mexico’s second-highest waterfall. The viewing platform sits at forest edge with unobstructed views across the Candameña Canyon system. During spring snowmelt and summer rains, the falls roar with impressive volume; by winter it often reduces to a delicate ribbon.
Access via 8km of rough dirt road from Highway 16 — high-clearance recommended but passenger cars make it in dry conditions. The final kilometer is rocky and steep. No facilities at the overlook; bring water and snacks for the hike down to the base.
