Torres del Paine W Circuit Vehicle Access
Backdoor access to Patagonia's crown jewel
While most visitors stick to the main park roads, the W Circuit vehicle access routes open up Torres del Paine’s wild backcountry through a network of ranch roads and park service tracks. The route from Administración to Las Torres base requires crossing multiple stream fords and navigating steep terrain that challenges even experienced Patagonian drivers, with the final section to Las Torres requiring high clearance and confidence in loose gravel.
Moderate to difficult depending on weather — Patagonian winds and sudden storms turn easy tracks into technical challenges. Any 4WD will handle dry conditions, but wet weather demands experience and proper tires. October through April offers the best access window. Park permits required, and camping is restricted to designated areas. You’ll skip the tourist crowds while accessing some of Patagonia’s most dramatic granite spires and glacier-fed lakes from angles few ever see.
