Camping Municipal Río Turbio
Perched at 1,400 meters in the sub-Antarctic forest, this well-maintained municipal campground offers hot showers, sheltered cooking areas, and level sites protected from Patagonia’s relentless winds. The facility serves as an excellent staging point for exploring the region’s coal mining history and accessing border crossings into Chile. Sites accommodate everything from motorcycles to large expedition rigs, with dedicated areas for tent camping and vehicle-based setups.
Check-in at the municipal office during business hours. The campground can fill during Argentine holiday weekends, but midweek stays are typically quiet. Wood is available for purchase, and the town center is a short walk for resupply.
