Fiordo de Última Esperanza Glacier Viewpoint
This dramatic overlook sits above the narrow fjord where Serrano Glacier calves directly into the Pacific, creating a thunderous display of ice collapse and surging waves. The viewpoint perches on granite cliffs 200 meters above the water, with unobstructed views of the glacier terminus and the towering peaks of the Cordillera Darwin beyond. Condors frequently soar at eye level here.
The overland approach requires crossing multiple unbridged streams and navigating trackless peat bogs — attempted only by the most experienced Patagonian travelers with proper equipment. Most visitors arrive by boat, but the few who make the overland journey find themselves completely alone at one of Chile’s most spectacular natural theaters.
