King Leopold Ranges — Inglis Gap Creek Flat Dispersed Camp

Dispersed Camping

Pull off into the creek flats on the western approach to Inglis Gap and you’re in classic Kimberley dry-season camp country — bloodwoods and paperbarks overhead, red dirt underfoot, and zero facilities. This stretch of the King Leopold Ranges Conservation Park sees steady Gibb River Road traffic from May through September, but most rigs push on to Imintji or Bell Gorge, so you can often have a flat patch of ground entirely to yourself. Bush camp only — no fire rings, no toilets, no signage. Carry everything in and out.

Access is via the Gibb River Road between Mount Hart turnoff and the Imintji Community. The creek crossing into the flat can hold water into June after a big wet season — scout on foot before you commit. This is Aboriginal land country; check current access conditions with DPAW and respect any community signage near Imintji. 4WD essential.
