Silent Grove Campground — Gibb River Road
Silent Grove sits about 20km off the Gibb on a corrugated dirt spur and delivers a proper Kimberley bush camp experience — boab trees, sandstone escarpment walls, and the jumping-off point for Bell Gorge. DBCA-managed, it has pit toilets, fire rings, and basic facilities. Sites are grassed and shaded, capacity is moderate, and it fills fast in peak dry season (June–August). No power, no showers, no mobile signal whatsoever.
The access track is rough enough to demand a high-clearance 4WD, especially after any rain. You pay the day-use/camping fee through the DBCA Parks and Wildlife online system or at the self-registration station on site. Bell Gorge itself is a short walk from camp — a three-tiered waterfall and plunge pool that earns every kilometre of corrugations it takes to get here. Season runs April to October; the road closes in the Wet.
