Zion National Park South Campground
South Campground sits along the Virgin River at the mouth of Zion Canyon, surrounded by 2,000-foot red rock walls that glow at sunrise and sunset. This full-service NPS campground offers 117 sites with flush restrooms, drinking water, and picnic tables. Sites A and B loops work for RVs up to 40 feet, while the riverside C loop is tent-only with cottonwood shade. The free shuttle system stops right at the campground entrance for easy access to Angel’s Landing, Narrows, and Emerald Pools trailheads.
Reservations essential March through November — this place books solid months in advance. Sites 1-83 take reservations while 84-117 are first-come, first-served. Summer temperatures hit 110°F regularly, making early morning and late afternoon the only comfortable times outdoors. Winter camping is pleasant but some facilities may close during freezing weather.
