Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park
This 3,700-acre state park protects a rare ecosystem of pink coral sand dunes formed by eroding Navajo sandstone. The main dune field spans about 2,000 acres with dunes reaching 100+ feet high. Popular with ATV and sand rail crowds on weekends, but quieter midweek. The 22-site campground sits among pinyon and juniper with full hookups, restrooms, and showers. Sites are spacious enough for big rigs but book ahead during peak season.
Access is via paved UT-43 then 8 miles of good gravel road. Park gates close at 10 PM. Best visited spring through fall — summer temps can hit 100°F+ on the dunes. No fires allowed in the dune area due to vegetation, but campground fire rings are permitted. Excellent stargazing with minimal light pollution.
