Valbona Valley National Park Theth Trailhead
The northern terminus of Albania’s most famous mountain trek, where the Valbona Valley road dead-ends at a cluster of guesthouses and the national park boundary. Stone houses dot the valley floor beneath towering limestone peaks, and the trail to Theth winds over Valbona Pass at 1,795 meters. Park rangers maintain a small station here with basic trail maps and weather updates.
Road from Fierza is rough but manageable in any high-clearance vehicle — lots of washboard and loose rock, but nothing technical. Summer only access due to snow at elevation. Guesthouses offer simple meals and beds if you’re not camping, but book ahead during peak season.
Gateway to Albania's premier mountain trek.
