Tyaughton Lake Recreation Site
Tyaughton Lake Rec Site sits on the southeast shore of Tyaughton Lake in the Bridge River country, roughly 25 kilometres north of Gold Bridge via Gun Creek Road. It’s a BC Forest Recreation Site — Crown land, no fee, no frills. A handful of cleared sites sit back from the lakeshore among mixed fir and pine. The lake itself is cold and clear, good for a rinse after a dusty FSR day. Expect light traffic outside of fishing season; it’s a known spot but never jammed.
Access is via Gun Creek Road north from Gold Bridge — mostly good gravel with some rougher sections that reward high-clearance rigs. The road to the lake branches off and is manageable for most stock trucks. Seasonal: snow can linger into late May and return by October. No drinking water on site — treat lake water or bring your own. Cell service is nonexistent out here.
