Toad River Lodge Fuel and Resupply
Toad River Lodge sits at roughly the halfway point between Fort Nelson and Watson Lake on the Alaska Highway, and for anyone running the Hyland River FSR or heading into the Northern Rockies, it’s a critical pin on the map. They pump gas and diesel, run a small café, and have a motel if you need a roof. The lodge is famous for its hat collection — thousands of them pinned to the ceiling — a legitimate landmark. It’s the last reliable fuel for a serious stretch in either direction if conditions push you off schedule.
The lodge operates seasonally but generally stays open through summer and fall. Don’t assume you can top off anywhere else between here and Liard if something goes sideways. Cell service is essentially nonexistent in this corridor — sort your comms before you leave Fort Nelson.
Last fuel before the deep north.
