Northern Rockies Lodge — Muncho Lake Fuel and Resupply
Muncho Lake sits in a deep valley along the Alaska Highway at around Mile 422, framed by the Northern Rocky Mountains and famous for its improbable copper-green water. The Northern Rockies Lodge here is a full-service stop: fuel (gas and diesel), a small general store, meals, and lodging. For overlanders running the Hyland River FSR, the Dease Lake corridor, or pushing north toward the Yukon, this is the last reliable fuel and resupply before Watson Lake. Don’t roll past it on fumes.
The lodge is right on Hwy 97. Fuel prices are northern-remote prices — expect to pay more than you did in Fort Nelson. The store carries basic provisions: canned goods, snacks, propane canisters, and ice. Cell service here is nonexistent. The setting alone is worth the stop — pull off, walk to the lakeshore, and take it in before the next long stretch of empty highway swallows you.
Last real fuel before Watson Lake.
