Superior National Forest Sawyer Creek Dispersed Area
Several primitive camping spots scattered along Sawyer Creek, tucked into mixed hardwood and pine forest with decent spacing between sites. Most spots can handle rigs up to about 25 feet, though a couple require careful maneuvering around tight turns. Creek runs year-round and holds brook trout — bring your license. Gets busy during peak fall colors but stays quiet most other times.
Access via Forest Road 332 turning into FR 152 — starts as decent gravel but gets rougher the deeper you go. Spring can be muddy, and some creek crossings may be impassable during high water. No facilities whatsoever, true Leave No Trace country. Best May through October.
