Seneca Shadows Campground — Monongahela National Forest

Seneca Shadows sits right at the foot of Seneca Rocks — those quartzite fins that shoot 900 feet above the North Fork of the South Branch Potomac River. It’s the biggest developed campground in the Monongahela, with over 70 sites split between electric and non-electric. Expect a mix of tent campers, roof-top-tent rigs, and a few big fifth-wheels in season. The site is flat, forested, and the river is right there. Trout fishing is legit. Weekends in fall are slammed — show up mid-week or reserve ahead.

Paved access off US-33 and WV-28, so any rig gets in. The Trans-America Trail corridor runs through this stretch of the Monongahela — this is a natural basecamp for riders and overlanders working the highland route between Lewisburg and Parsons. Host on-site most of the season. Water and flush toilets available. Open late spring through fall; confirm exact dates with the Potomac Ranger District before departure.
