Pine Creek Gorge Campground
This 25-site state forest campground sits on the eastern rim of Pine Creek Gorge, offering spectacular canyon views and direct access to the 62-mile Pine Creek Rail Trail. Sites are primitive with picnic tables and fire rings, scattered through mature hardwood forest. No hookups or showers, but vault toilets and hand-pump water are available. The campground fills quickly on summer weekends — arrive by Thursday for the best site selection.
Access is via paved PA Route 414, then a short gravel entrance road. Open April through October, with sites typically snow-free by late March. The rail trail trailhead is a five-minute walk from most sites, and several Pine Creek Gorge overlooks are accessible via short hiking trails from the campground.
