Moose Flat Campground — Bridger-Teton National Forest

Established Campground

Moose Flat sits alongside the Greys River on FR 10138, roughly 18 miles south of Alpine on the Greys River Road corridor. It’s a small, no-frills USFS campground — vault toilet, fire rings, and a handful of sites shaded by spruce and fir. The river runs close enough that you’ll hear it from your bag. Expect elk in the meadows at first light and zero cell signal. It’s the kind of camp that fills up Friday nights in July and August when hunters and anglers move in, but midweek it’s usually yours.

Access is via the Greys River Road (FR 10138), a maintained gravel road passable by most high-clearance rigs — full-size trucks and trailers navigate it regularly, but the road can get rough after heavy rain. Open typically June through October depending on snowpack. No hookups, no trash service — pack it out.

Pine and river camp deep in Greys River country.
