Mobil Fuel Station — Creston BC Highway 3
Creston sits at the junction of Highway 3 and Highway 21 at the south end of the Kootenay Valley, and it’s the practical gateway town for overlanders heading up Goat River FSR toward Mount Molybdenite Basin or looping through the Skookumchuck country to the north. Fuel here is consistent — there are multiple stations in town including a Mobil and an Esso — and the grocery options are solid with a full Safeway in town for restocking before multi-day runs. Creston is a real functioning small city, not a resort town.
Top off everything here. Once you leave town heading north or northeast into the FSR network, fuel opportunities disappear fast. The town also has a Canadian Tire for basic parts and propane, and a hospital if things went sideways on your last run. It’s a no-nonsense agricultural and forestry town — your rig will fit right in.
Last fuel before Goat River FSR goes wild.
