Mirador Laguna de los Tres
The iconic view of Cerro Fitz Roy reflected in Laguna de los Tres requires a committed 8-hour round trip hike from El Chaltén. The final approach involves a steep scree scramble, but the payoff is legendary — jagged granite spires rising straight from the milky glacial lake. Early morning light on Fitz Roy’s east face is pure magic.
Trail starts from the north edge of El Chaltén town. Well-marked but demanding — proper hiking boots and weather gear essential. Weather changes fast here. Best attempted October through March when days are longer.
