Leonard Harrison State Park Overlook Trailhead
The main trailhead for exploring Pennsylvania’s Pine Creek Gorge, offering the classic overlook view into the 1,000-foot-deep canyon carved through ancient rock formations. A short paved trail leads to the main vista point, while longer rim trails connect to the West Rim Trail system for serious backpacking. The visitor center provides maps and geological exhibits. This is the most developed access point to the Pine Creek Gorge trail network.
The overlook can be crowded during fall foliage season in early October. Parking fills quickly on weekends. Winter access depends on snow conditions but the overlook often remains accessible. The trailhead connects to multi-day backpacking routes through the Tioga State Forest.
