McArthur Wildlife Sanctuary — Kluane Lake Territorial Campground
Kathleen Lake Campground is the main developed campground inside Kluane National Park and Reserve, sitting right on the shores of Kathleen Lake with the Auriol Range rising behind it. It’s a Parks Canada operation with a mix of drive-in sites — fire rings, flush toilets in season, firewood available for purchase, and potable water on tap. It fills up in July and August, especially on weekends when the Haines Junction crowd rolls in. The lake itself is brilliant glacial blue and the fishing is worth a morning.
Located about 27 km south of Haines Junction off the Haines Road (Highway 3), all paved access. Any rig can get here, making it a good base for Kluane backcountry staging. Bears — both black and grizzly — are active in this corridor. Park fees apply. Reservations available through Parks Canada for the summer rush; otherwise walk-in sites go fast.
