Hoosier National Forest Jackson Creek Dispersed Area
Jackson Creek cuts through a remote valley in Hoosier National Forest where forest roads create multiple camping opportunities along the water. The area features rolling hills, dense hardwood forest, and seasonal creek flow that creates good swimming holes during spring runoff. Several established fire rings and relatively flat spots can handle larger rigs. Popular basecamp for exploring the extensive ORV trail system.
Access via Forest Road 202 from State Road 37 near English. Road gets rougher past mile 4 with creek crossings that can be impassable after heavy rain. 4WD recommended for deeper sites. Busy on summer weekends with ATV crowds but very quiet midweek. Fire restrictions common during dry periods.
