Hickory Run State Park Campground

Established Campground

Hickory Run State Park’s main campground sprawls across 381 sites in three loops, making it one of Pennsylvania’s largest established campgrounds. The sites are mostly wooded with decent spacing, though weekends and holidays pack it solid. Fire rings and picnic tables at every site, with modern bathhouses scattered throughout. The real draw is proximity to the park’s trail system and the famous Boulder Field—a 16-acre stretch of glacial boulders that looks like another planet.

Access is straightforward off I-80, making this a solid basecamp for exploring the broader Pocono region. Sites fill up fast during fall foliage season (September-October), so reservations are basically mandatory. Winter camping available but water gets shut off. The park sits at decent elevation, so nights can be chilly even in summer.
