Goldpan Provincial Park — Thompson River Day Use and Water Access
Goldpan sits right on the Thompson River canyon wall along Highway 1, about 10 km north of Spences Bridge. The river runs fast and clear here, and while the campground is small and mostly used by highway travelers, the day use area gives you reliable access to one of the better surface water sources in the Fraser Canyon corridor. Filter it — this is a major river system — but it’s real, cold water when you need it. Good for topping up tanks before heading into the Botanie Valley or Stein Valley backcountry.
Paved access directly off Hwy 1. No gate, no reservation required for day use. Can be busy with highway traffic in summer. Cell signal is spotty at best in this canyon.
