Goblin Valley State Park Overlook

Point of Interest

Goblin Valley feels like another planet — thousands of red sandstone hoodoos weathered into goblin-like shapes spread across a natural amphitheater. The main overlook gives you the full scope before you drop down to walk among them. Kids and photographers go nuts here. The formations are surprisingly fragile despite looking ancient and bombproof, so climbing is discouraged.

Access is via UT-24 to a well-maintained park road. The campground here makes a good base for exploring the wider San Rafael Swell area, including nearby Little Wild Horse Canyon. Spring and fall are prime — summer gets brutally hot with little shade in the valley itself.
