Fishlake National Forest UM Pass Dispersed Area
This high-alpine dispersed area features numerous unmarked sites scattered across open meadows and aspen groves near UM Pass. Sites accommodate 2-4 vehicles each with established fire rings and flat tent areas. The area serves as a staging point for multiple ATV trails including connections to the Paiute Trail system. Expect busy weekends during summer and fall hunting seasons, but weekdays remain peaceful.
Access via Forest Road 153 requires 4WD for the final 2 miles due to rocky climbs and loose surface conditions. Road typically accessible May through October, weather dependent. Sites are at tree line with limited natural windbreaks – secure gear and expect afternoon thunderstorms in summer months.
