Fish Creek sits in old-growth cedar and hemlock forest along the shores of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. The campground has 178 sites spread across several loops, with most accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. Sites are well-spaced with good privacy, and the campground fills early during summer months. Evening programs at the amphitheater and lake access make this a solid base camp for exploring the park’s west side.
Reservations are essential from May through September. The campground is accessed via North Fork Road from Apgar Village, about 4 miles of paved road. Sites have fire rings and picnic tables, but no hookups. Bears are common — food storage regulations are strictly enforced.
