Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary Boardwalk Trail

Elevated 2.25-mile boardwalk through old-growth bald cypress swamp with exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities.

Two and a quarter miles of elevated boardwalk wind through 13,000 acres of pristine cypress swamp and pine flatwoods. The trail passes through 700-year-old bald cypress trees and offers prime wildlife viewing, especially during winter months when wading birds concentrate in remaining water. Alligators, river otters, and over 200 bird species call this sanctuary home.

Open daily with entrance fees required. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and well-maintained. Best visited early morning or late afternoon for wildlife activity. Located off Sanctuary Road west of I-75, about 15 miles northeast of Fort Myers.
