Carpenter Lake — Goldmyer Creek Recreation Site
Tucked along the north shore of Carpenter Lake on the Carpenter Lake Road (Hurley FSR corridor), this BC Forest Service recreation site gives you direct water access, a handful of pull-through and back-in spots, and a fire ring setup that actually works for a larger group rig count. It’s raw — no fee, no reservations, no host — which means it fills fast on summer weekends with ATV and dirt bike crews heading into the South Chilcotin. Midweek it’s yours.
Access is well-maintained gravel for most of the Carpenter Lake Road, passable by most high-clearance rigs. The lake level fluctuates depending on BC Hydro operations upstream, so the shoreline can be muddy or rocky depending on when you roll in. No cell service in the canyon. Stock up in Lillooet or Gold Bridge before committing to this stretch.
