Blue Ridge Parkway Humpback Rocks Visitor Center
The massive granite outcrop at Humpback Rocks offers one of the most accessible overlooks on the northern Blue Ridge Parkway. A short 1-mile hike leads to the summit where weathered stone provides panoramic views across the Shenandoah Valley. The visitor center below showcases reconstructed mountain homesteads and exhibits on Appalachian culture.
Parking fills quickly on weekends during peak foliage season. The trail gains 700 feet in elevation but is well-maintained. Winter ice can make the rocks treacherous — microspikes recommended December through February.
