Kathleen Lake Campground — Kluane National Park
Kathleen Lake is the real deal inside Kluane National Park and Reserve — a turquoise glacier-fed lake hemmed in by spruce and the St. Elias foothills, with the Duke Depression visible to the northwest. The campground has established sites with picnic tables, fire rings, flush toilets, and a kitchen shelter. It’s one of the few serviced camps anywhere near the Donjek Route and Dezadeash Lake backcountry, so overlanders use it as a launch or recovery point. Ranger station nearby. Expect higher summer use — July and August fill fast on weekends.
Located on the Haines Road about 27 km south of Haines Junction. Paved access. The Rockcliffe Trail and Lakeview Trail both leave from here. Water available on-site. Reservation window opens in spring through Parks Canada — worth booking ahead if you’re running the Kluane foothills roads in peak season.
Only drive-in camp inside Kluane National Park.
