Dezadeash Lake Territorial Campground — Haines Junction
Dezadeash Lake sits southwest of Haines Junction in the shadow of the St. Elias Range, and this territorial campground right on the lakeshore is one of the better-positioned camps in the Kluane corridor. If you’re running the Dezadeash Lake to Bates Lake backcountry road or probing the Kluane foothills, this is your last comfortable stop before things get remote. Pit toilets, fire rings, and a boat launch. The lake is big enough that wind can roll in fast — make sure your shelter is sorted. Fishing for lake trout is solid.
Access is off the Haines Road (Highway 3) south of Haines Junction — well-signed and paved to the turnoff, short dirt track to the sites. Most rigs handle it fine. Busy in July and August with Kluane-bound travelers. Cell service is essentially gone once you leave Haines Junction. Open May through September.
