Tyaughton Lake FSR — Lorna Lake Recreation Site
Lorna Lake Recreation Site sits along the Tyaughton Lake FSR network in the South Chilcotin Mountains, within the same drainage system as Gun Creek and the Spruce Lake Protected Area. It’s a lightly used, non-reservable BCFS site with a handful of vehicle-accessible spots near the lake shore. Expect a remote, high-country feel — no services, no cell, no crowds on most weeknights. Fire rings present; check current BCWS fire restrictions before lighting anything.
Access is via the Tyaughton Lake FSR off the Gold Bridge–Carpenter Lake Road. High-clearance 4WD recommended past the lower FSR sections, especially after spring runoff. Road can be rough and muddy into late June. Season typically June through October depending on snowpack. No drinking water infrastructure — filter from the lake.
Quiet lakeside BCFS camp, South Chilcotin highlands.
