Tyaughton Lake FSR — Pearson Creek Recreation Site
Pearson Creek Recreation Site sits on the Tyaughton Lake FSR corridor, one of the main arteries feeding the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park and Spruce Lake Protected Area trail network. You get a handful of sites right on the creek, fire rings, and a pit toilet — nothing fancy, but that’s the point. Vibe is remote and forested, with the big alpine country just upstream. Expect other overlanders and horse parties during peak summer.
Access is via the Tyaughton Lake FSR off Gold Bridge Road — high-clearance 2WD handles it in dry conditions, but early season mud and washboarding can make it rougher. No drinking water on-site; treat creek water or pack your own. Check BC Wildfire Service for fire restrictions before you light anything — this country burns.
Creek-side base for the South Chilcotin.
