Marengo Cave National Landmark
This National Natural Landmark sits in Crawford County’s karst landscape, where limestone caves honeycomb the ground beneath your rig. The Crystal Palace tour runs about an hour through flowstone formations and underground rooms, while the Dripstone Trail goes deeper into the wet sections. Tours run year-round at a constant 54 degrees — bring a jacket even in summer.
The cave sits just off SR 64 between Bedford and the Ohio River, making it an easy detour when running trails in the Hoosier National Forest or heading to/from the Clear Creek area. Gift shop has local maps and trail guides. Cash or card accepted, but call ahead in winter for reduced tour schedules.
